There once was – there is no more – there is
The film deals with the topic of experiencing difficult emotions related to the loss of loved ones and coping with it. Together with the 12-year old heroine Krysia, we embark on a journey through places and times that once were, and those we strive to remember. The film, based on a story by Katarzyna Jackowska-Enemuo, supports young viewers in meeting their own emotional “black holes” and brings relief. The film is intended for children aged 10-12, but its profound meaningallow people over 12 years old to experience a journey within themselves and the Jewish history of Poland. The project was financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA Fund and by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
The film was shown at over 40 film festivals worldwide, including the Warsaw International Film Festival (Poland), Zlín Film Festival (Czechia), Animafest Zagreb (Croatia) and the Miami Jewish Film Festival (USA). The film won 10 awards and got honorable/special mention at the: Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival (Germany), Festiwal Animacji O!PLA (Poland), the Chinh Youth Film Festival (India), KIDS International Family Film Festival (USA), International Public Health Film Competition (UK), Multicultural Mental Health Film Festival (Australia), the Anatolian Film Award Festival (Turkey), Chinh India Kids Film Festival (India), Shoham Film Festival (Israel) and the Madras Independent Film Festival (India).
